A SPECIAL centre for students with autism has opened at a Hereford High School.
The Bridge Centre at the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School will specifically help young people suffering from autism spectrum disorder.
It was opened by Clive Richards OBE, chairman of the Edgar Street Grid project, who has made a substantial donation to the centre.
Herefordshire Council has also allocated funds to support the initiative.
Autism is believed to affect about one in every 2,000 people but comes in different forms with widely differing levels of severity. It affects the ability of the sufferer to relate to the world around them.
