OPEN GARDENS - On Sunday between 1pm and 6pm, a number of gardens and a local vineyard will open their gates to raise money for the Bishops Frome Community Shop and summer playscheme. Many of the gardens have great views of the Frome Valley. There are cottage gardens, wildflower areas, a gravel garden and vegetable plots. One has a paddock where children can play on the large train and zip track. In Paunton there will be a model vineyard and an opportunity to taste and buy Frome Valley wine. Teas, coffee, soft drinks, cakes and locally grown plants will be on sale. Admission £5 per adult, £1 for children aged five to 16, underfives free.
VICAR - As part of the process of finding a new vicar for the Fromes group of churches, there will be a section 11 meeting on Monday at 7.30 pm in St Peter’s Parish Room, Bromyard. This is an opportunity for parishioners to discuss the ‘statement of needs’ which sets out the benefice profile.
This will then be circulated, probably nationwide, in order to attract someone to apply for the vacant post. The archdeacon will also be in attendance to answer any questions.
