VISITORS to the mayor's parlour in Leominster will have no excuse for not knowing the time, thanks to the restoration of a historic clock.
The town's Parliament Clock was on display at Leominster Museum for many decades without working.
But now, thanks to the skills of local craftsmen, the clock is back in use at Grange Court.
Staff at Leominster's Barometer Shop carefully renovated the Parliament Clock - so-called because it was one of many timepieces moved to a public place after a tax was imposed on clocks and watches. Many people gave their timepieces away and relied on public clocks after George III's Act of Parliament Clock in 1779.
