HEREFORD has hosted a three-day conference on the latest developments in the battle of the sexes.
The event at the Three Counties Hotel attracted more than 120 delegates from all over the country to debate the changing roles of men and women.
It was organised by the National Council of Women of Great Britain and included speeches from three women in political life: Baroness Byford, who is the opposition spokesperson on food and rural affairs in the House of Lords, Jenny Willott MP, a Liberal Democrat member of the public administration committee, and Lorraine Barrett a member of the Welsh Assembly and of the equality of opportunity committee.
There was a debate on cultural issues with an address from Mushuq Ally, head of equality and diversity with Birmingham City Council.
Delegates also considered family issues, fertility, the modern family, future water supplies and the effects of prison sentencing on women.
