SHOPPERS in Hereford can rest assured that they are in a safe place after the city was given an award for its security.
Towns and cities from across the country have to go through a rigorous accreditation process to assess the retail safety procedures that they have in place. They include the standards of the retail radio, CCTV and police support.
The Home Office-supported Safer Business Award was given to Hereford at a presentation at the Maylord Shopping Centre.
It was organised by the Hereford Retail Security Group as a way of saying thank you to all those who had made Hereford a safe place to visit.
