POMOLOGISTS were able to look for the "apple of their eyes" at a Herefordshire event.
Enthusiasts enjoyed looking at hundreds of rare apples at a special weekend held at Berrington Hall, near Leominster, including Lord Hindlip and new German varieties.
Visitors could also have their apples identified by experts and view demonstrations of cider pressing.
Fifty varieties of apples were planted at Berrington Hall by the Herefordshire branch of the National Council for Conservation of Plants and Gardens, including several local varieties, in the 1990s.
