ZIP WIRE AND BMX FUN - On June 2, the CP Playing Fields Association had a Jubilee activity afternoon. As a result of a Grant from Awards for All for £9,200.00 the CP Playing Fields Association have been able to add a zip-wire, a log walk and a BMX track.
Katy Lloyd, pictured, a pupil at Canon Pyon Primary School, opened the proceedings by being the first person to use the zip-wire.
The BMX track which was built by Joe Dickson, was also officially opened with Joe and several youngsters showing their BMX skills to an enthusiastic audience. Also there was a display of vintage tractors and sports cars. Basketball and soccer shooting competitions were held on the multi-purpose area which also received a generous Awards for All grant five years ago. Special mention should be made of Caitlin Campbell who won a prize in both basketball and soccer competitions.
