DENNIS Locorriere, the voice of Dr Hook - one of the biggest bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s - returns to Brecon on Saturday.

With Dennis Locorriere on vocals, Dr Hook amassed more than 60 gold and platinum records, scoring No 1 hits in more than 42 countries. The band had world-wide success with classics like Sylvia's Mother, When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman, A Little Bit More and the original and definitive version of The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan.

After the band split up in 1984, Dennis went on to appear in a major movie with Dustin Hoffman and starred in an acclaimed one man play written specially for him, The Devil And Billy Markham, at New York City's Lincoln Centre. Meanwhile his songs have continued to live, covered by a wide variety of other artists including Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John and Willie Nelson.

With a string of successful solo projects behind him, Dennis Locorriere still has one of the finest voices around.

Catch Dennis at Theatr Brycheiniog this Saturday at 7.45pm. Tickets are available on 01874 611622.
