NEXT year marks the 50th anniversary of Bromyard and District Choral Society - and it's planning to celebrate.
A gala concert is planned for May 19 when the choir, with full orchestral accompaniment, will sing Haydn's Creation and a work that is being specially commissioned for the event by Hereford-born composer John Robinson.
But first there's this year's new season to look forward to and rehearsals have just begun for performances of Dvorak's Te Deum and Poulenc's Gloria on December 16.
Newcomers are always welcome and no audition is required. Conductor Richard Popple says: "The ability to sing in tune is essential and some experience of music reading would be helpful."
The society is always glad to hear from people who want to help in a non-singing capacity as associate members, to assist with social and front-of-house activities. Contact the choir secretary on 01885 482716.
