THE Bassoonatics will be in Knighton on Sunday, October 29, at 3pm to perform at the opening concert of the Knighton and District Concert Society's 2006/7 season.
Members of this London-based group are all recent graduates from the Royal Academy of Music and include Lawrence O'Rourke from Norton.
The Bassoonatics will be bringing a very varied programme of music from Gershwin, Pachelbel and Strauss and including Variations on a Theme by Haydn and Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev, which will appeal to all ages. The bassoon is perhaps not the best known orchestral instrument but you can be assured of a varied and enjoyable afternoon with this lively and enthusiastic ensemble.
The concert will be held in the Church Hall, Knighton, and tickets are £5, with entry free for children and students. A subscriber ticket for all four concerts in the season is available from the Bookshop, Broad Street, Knighton, or on the door. For details contact 01547 529400.
