PARISH COUNCILS - At its June meeting, following an extension of the requirement for parish councillors to give notice of their pecuniary interests, six members of Ocle Pychard group parish council resigned. The council is now non-quorate, which means there are insufficient councillors to take any lawful decisions. It is also not possible for the remaining councillors to co-opt new members. Advice is being sought by Herefordshire Council’s monitoring officer as to how to proceed under the Local Government Act of 1972. Meanwhile, any residents of Felton, Ullingswick or Ocle Pychard who would be interested in joining a newly constituted parish council on a temporary basis ahead of new elections are asked to contact the clerk, Martin Field, on 01432 820074 or at parishclerk@ymail.com.
