HEREFORD'S newest DIY superstore opened with a splash when an Olympic diver cut the red ribbon.
Leon Taylor, who won a silver medal at the Athens Olympics, officially opened B&Q on Holmer Road yesterday (Thursday).
Later in the day he visited Hereford Leisure Pool where he shared some swimming and diving tips with pupils from Hunderton Primary School.
Leon is now training for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and has been supported by B&Q in his quest to bring home another medal.
Simon Gwynne, from Hereford Leisure Pool, was certainly pleased with Leon and B&Q for their support.
"It's great to have such an inspirational athlete visit us," he said. "It's exciting to think of the children's sporting potential and meeting Leon is certainly a special experience for them."
To celebrate the opening of the store, B&Q staff gave free DIY demos and held competitions for customers.
