FETE AND VEHICLE SHOW - The village fete and classic vehicle show is on Saturday.

Hereford Hospital Radio will again be in attendance along with all the usual stalls, games and catering, cream teas and a barbecue serving local Emma’s Pigs burgers and sausages. Rosie and Monty Goat plus friends will be there too. Rumours are circulating of an aerobatic flypast. Bring any vehicle that you would like to put on display, from push bikes to classic cars, for £3 entry which will go directly to Hereford Hospital Radio. Collectors will be around Preston today (Thursday) from about 6pm onwards so please leave bottles outside by your door or drop them off at 4 Cloverdale Drive with your name on. All proceeds will go to the upkeep of the village hall.

BOXERCISE - Boxercise and Tabata exercise classes are at Preston-on-Wye Village Hall every Tuesday from 6pm-7pm, £3 per session.

No need to book. Your first session is free.

TENNIS - Celebrate Wimbledon by getting your tennis racquets and your legs out. Club membership subs are now due, £15 for adults and £5 for under-16s and students for unlimited use of the courts. Call membership secretary Andrew Rawstorne as soon as possible to join this year or email francisrst@hotmail.co.uk. The annual Preston-on-Wye tennis tournament and barbecue will be on July 22, from 2pm. All ages and abilities are welcome to take part or just watch.

RECYCLING - There is a recycling collection point for laser and ink jet printer cartridges and mobile phones at Preston Village Hall.

Put them in a plastic bag before placing in the box, situated behind the stage in the hall.

Alternatively, leave them in the front porch at Well Cottage. These will then be sent off to the Dogs Trust which will use the proceeds to help care for and re-home abandoned dogs.
