FETE - Despite inclement weather, there was a big turnout for the church fete, with many stalls and games, the village band, a barbecue and teas in the glorious grounds of Glan Arrow. More than £2,000 was raised for the village church.
BOWLS - Eardisland Bowling Club enjoyed a comfortable home win against Knighton on a dry Wednesday evening, although the green was heavy. Eardisland won on three of the four rinks, Phil Sharp once again skipping his rink of Joan Stokes, David Wallis and Ray Jones to best rink, winning 25 shots to 11.
There were also wins for Tony Stokes and Jonathan Farndon. Saturday’s match against Kingsland was the fifth home match to fall foul of the weather this season.
PACT - The next Police and Communities Together workshop is in the village shop at 3pm today (Thursday).
SPEEDING - West Mercia Police’s website warns that speeding traffic contravening the 30mph limit in Eardisland will be prioritised.
Officers are to carry out speed enforcement.
IN BLOOM - Judging for the In Bloom competition takes place next Thursday, July 26.
COUNCIL - The parish council meets in the village hall next Thursday, July 26, at 7.30pm.
