SCHOOL NEWS - Longtown Community Primary school held a successful school fete on July 6 raising more than £900 towards school equipment. Thanks go to everyone who helped and supported this event.
Children from the school along withpupils from Michaelchurch Escley and Ewyas Harold took part in a youth songs of praise at Dore Abbey. The service was led by Rev Nicholas Lowton with readings and prayers read by the children. On July 10 children from Longtown and Michaelchurch schools were joined by their parents for a sports afternoon. All the children who took part showed sportsmanship and enthusiasm and thanks go to all the staff and parents for their help and support.
LONGTOWN SHOW - On August 18 at Llanwonog Farm, there will be classes for horses, ponies, dogs, livestock, flowers, fruit and vegetables, handicraft and produce.
Rural craft demonstrations will take place along with children’s sports and field events.
There will also be a wide range of other attractions. Entrance for adults is £4 and children (five-15) £1.
