ST MARY’S FETE - In spite of torrential rain, a good crowd braved the elements to attend the church fete. Merriel Oliver opened proceedings with words of encouragement to go out and enjoy the afternoon in spite of the weather, which everyone did. Nearly £1,900 was raised and the organisers wish to thank everyone for their support.
DUCK RACE AND WALK - The ever popular duck race and village walk is on Saturday.
Meet at the village hall at 2pm for transport to the Kington end of Hergest Ridge. The walk will take about 75mins – quite easy but with a steep hill descent into Gladestry, although there is an easier path down a track. Stout footwear is recommended.
Following the walk there will be a ploughman’s tea in the village hall for which there will be a small charge. The duck race will start between 4.30pm and 5pm. For further information, call Mr and Mrs Viv Lloyd on 01544 370636.
BARNARDO’S - Marlene Evans thanks everyone in the village for supporting the Barnardo’s collection, totalling £219.
