GARDEN PARTY - Sunday, there will be a garden party and mini-fete in the grounds of the church, starting at 3pm and finishing with an informal evening praise at 5pm. Some of the usual stalls will be there, including cakes, “ping pong panic”, cream teas, bric-a-brac, fruit and vegetable produce, preserves and a plant sale. There will also be tea, cakes and refreshments. In light of recent monsoon conditions it is planned to put everything under marquees.
FRIENDSHIP CLUB - The Friendship Club will meet at Stoke Lacy Village Hall at 10.30am on Tuesday. Mrs Cummings will be giving a talk on the Revelations of Handwriting. Once again there will be a WRVS meal available from noon. Anyone who would like to book a place is asked to call the caterers on 01885 488654 no later than tomorrow (Friday).
Cancel by calling the same number no later than Monday. This is especially important if anyone is on holiday, or hospitalised.
GARDEN CLUB - On August 28, Paul Hervey- Brooks will join the club to discuss Design and the Garden. Paul has won medals at both Malvern and Chelsea, has recently appeared on Sarah Raven’s recent TV series Bees Butterflies and Blooms and is an RHS trials judge. The meeting will begin at 8pm in the village hall and everyone is welcome. The cost for non-members will be £3.
