THE Olympics may have come and gone and left so many memorable moments, but the Paralympics are set to be just as exciting.
Tonight is the opening ceremony, before the action starts off tomorrow, with one of our own right amongst the competitors.
Nyree Kindred is in the 100m backstroke, with the final taking place at precisely 5.38pm.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if she came home with a gold medal and we could paint a post box gold just as happened to all of the other home towns and cities of Olympic gold medallists.
Nyree's husband Sascha then defends his 100m breastroke title on Saturday, which we are dubbing Herefordshire's Super Saturday .
That is because club thrower Josie Pearson and shooter James Bevis will also be competing.
Just imagine if they achieve what Great Britain did on that Super Saturday at the Olympics?
Sascha is competing in six events, while the Great Britain Blind Football team, coached by former Hereford United captain Tony Larkin, have high hopes of doing well too.
They are all inspirational athletes and everyone in Herefordshire should be proud of their accomplishments thus far.
So best of luck to them all and let's hope they come back with some gold!
