CHURCH SERVICE - On Sunday there will be a service of holy communion at Aymestrey Church at 11am. As the churches at Aymestrey, Leinthall Earls, Kingsland and Eardisland are presently interregnum, the churchwardens will do their best to keep church services going as normal. To check for service times, call Meg Thorpe on 780384 or Stuart Hutchings on 770536.
QUIZ NIGHT - The autumn season of popular quiz nights is due to start again next week with the first being held on September 7 at a start time of 8pm prompt. The entry fee for teams of up to four members is £5. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be available but team members are welcome to provide their own alcoholic refreshment if desired. There will be a cash prize for the winning team. There will also be a prize draw.
BIKE RIDE - Some residents of Aymestrey and Leinthall Earls will be taking part on September 8 in what is usually a leisurely meander around the lanes and churches in the surrounding countryside. Anyone wishing to join will be most welcome, and can be assured that hills and main roads are avoided unless absolutely necessary. It is always a fun day out and helps to raise money for the local churches and also the Historic Churches Trust (which donates money most generously to churches in need). In recent years the local churches have benefited from its grants. Anyone wishing to join in, sponsor the riders or get more information can ring Meg Thorpe on 01568 780384.
h.ART - Yatton artists Helga Powell and Brontë Woodruff are busy preparing to exhibit their work during h.Art week, which will be held this year from September 8 to 16.
Watch out for more details.
