I knew that she had it in her to get the gold, but to do it in the style that she did? Amazing!

The Cusop-based resident was in the form of her life as she threw the discus to distances no one dreamt that she would do, but she did and I for one am very proud of her.

The question now is what post box will be painted gold?

Josie has already said that she would prefer it to be in her home town of Hay-on-Wye.

What an amazing feeling to see Herefordshire finally being put on the sporting map.

The London 2012 Games have been a great showcase of the talent that perhaps have not had the credit and recognition that they deserve.

You only had to look at the reaction that David Weir and Jonny Peacock got in the 800m and 100m finals last night to realise that the nation has taken the Paralympics to its heart.

I have been utterly amazed at some of the athletes' performances, which wouldn't look out of place at the Olympics, never mind the Paralympics.

I was at the Olympic Park yesterday to watch two blind football games (which sadly included Great Britain losing on penalties to China) and goalball (which I didn't even know existed prior to the Games).

The atmosphere was fantastic and the Park was absolutely heaving at times.

It has truly been a fantastic summer of sport, one which I don't think anyone will ever forget. I certainly won't.

So to Josie, Sascha and Nyree Kindred, James Bevis and everyone has who has competed in the London 2012 Paralympics and the Olympics prior to it, thank you for putting smiles on so many faces, young and old.
