SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT - Ashperton Primary became an academy in April 2011, enabling it to take advantage of funding opportunities from the local authority and capital maintenance fund for academies. This funding will provide three new inspirational classrooms, which will open in March. Each classroom will link to its own outdoor space and a newly developed wildlife habitat which supports Ashperton’s ethos of children enjoying the freedom of being outside. Pupils have been fully involved throughout the process of planning and designing the project. The foundations have gone in over the holidays and the timber frame is due to arrive shortly.
The project also includes several reading corners, special educational needs rooms and a library.
