A POWER cut has hit around 2,500 homes and businesses near Hereford, Western Power Distribution has said.
A fault on the high voltage network left 2,727 without electricity, but within an hour of the fault being reported, supply to 2,233 of those had been restored.
For the remaning 494 homes and business in the HR1 postcode area, Western Power Distribution said it though power would be back on at around 1.30pm.
A map on its website showed the area affected stretched from Moreton-on-Lugg, into northern parts of Hereford, and east to Withington and the area north of Ashperton.
"We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 11.48am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible," Western Power Distribution said.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."
A high voltage incident tend to be larger, affecting the wider area and could mean several homes and business are without power.
The powercut is now affecting homes and business in northern parts of Hereford around Aylestone Hill, Venns Lane and Roman Road.
Power to all properties was restored on Thursday afternoon.
