A HEREFORD hairdresser has spoken of her shock after being shortlisted as a finalist for a national award.
Danielle Statham, who works at Avant Garde Salon in Church Street, has made it to the national finals of the Fellowship of British Hairdressing awards.
Winners have an opportunity to join its industry recognised FAME team.
The FAME team travel around the UK to connect and network with the top and most iconic hairdressers and learn their skills.

They are also invited to very high profiled events to demonstrate and style hair.
Ms Statham has also been invited to do hair at this years' London Fashion Week.
Avant Garde said on Ms Statham's achievement: "She’s only gone and done it.
"Dani is now one of eight finalists in for a chance to be a part of the highest profiled team in the U.K.
"We are super excited for October and your Avant Garde family wish you all the best of luck."

Ms Statham said: "I'm so excited and even more honoured to be a part of this amazing opportunity.
"I was so shocked as all the other competitors were incredibly skilled.
"I know that not many hairdressers even get the chance compete in the semi-finals so was over the moon to even get that far.
"I feel like this is my time to shine."
