Work has started on the final phase of an £8 million project at Centenary Park in the heart of Hereford Enterprise Zone (HEZ).

Commercial property developer Priority Space is adding nine new industrial and warehousing units to the site, completing a mixed-use development which already features nine industrial units and a premium office development.

Phase one of Centenary Park, in Rotherwas, was finished in 2019. All its industrial units are now occupied.

The office space at Stirling House is home to major employers including surgical equipment manufactures LeMaitre Vascular, tax firm Jenners and the Hereford Times.

Phase two will provide a further 17,250 square feet of new speculative workspace and is being built by Britcon on a two-acre site next to phase one. Work is expecting to be finished by March 2023.

Centenary Park has been developed by Priority Space in partnership with HG Sites and Herefordshire Council. It is part of the city's Skylon Park, Hereford Enterprise Zone development.

Director of Priority Space Adam Richardson said: "We're very pleased to start work on the final phase of Centenary Park.

"Phase one was completed before the pandemic and all the industrial units are now sold or let.

"We anticipate interest for these additional units from a wide range of SMEs looking for more space to grow, especially given the recent growth in the logistics sector, plus the renewed focus on investing in high-spec and energy-efficient premises to run secure and sustainable businesses."

Chair of Hereford Enterprise Zone Andrew Manning-Cox welcomed the start on site by Priority Space as Skylon Park enters the final stages of its development.

He said: "Skylon Park has developed over the course of a decade into a dynamic business park which has welcomed overseas, home-grown investors and the valuable job creation which goes with them.

"Priority Space's development offers high quality workspace for companies which want to base their operations here with access to skilled workers and ready-made supply chains."
