A NEW bar offering visitors a "unique experience" has recently opened its doors in Hereford.

The Tipsy Kat cocktail bar is the brainchild of Alex Gledhill and Karen Barnett, who already own JJ and Little Dots Cafe in the next door unit in Bridge Street.

They, along with Karen's husband Steve, have moved into the world of cocktails and admit to it being a bit of a departure for them.

The bar is modern, stylish, and shares an outdoor seating area with next-door outlets Fujisan and The Den, and bosses say the Tipsy Kat will create a unique experience.

When the unit became available, Ms Gledhill said it was an opportunity that they couldn't pass up.

When they had previously thought about leasing the unit they had a completely different idea in mind.

Ms Gledhill said they thought they might combine the cafe with a soft play area, much like Tiny Town have done in Widemarsh Street.

She said: "It's definitely a complete change from what we originally thought we might do with the place.

OTHER NEWS:

"We decided to go for it, to do something for a more grown-up audience."

All of its staff has been trained in cocktail making and mixology at the Alchemist bar in Cheltenham and bar manager Lauren Fairbrother is looking to create something unique for its customers.

Miss Fairbrother said that the bar has a huge range of drinks and mixers that will help the bar stand out in a crowded market.

She said: "We are quite small, size wise, so we are looking to create an experience for people when they come here, something that you wont get anywhere else locally.

"Our drinks will be very sensory based, with things to smell, things to taste, things to see.

"We are looking to bring a touch of difference and a bit of glamour to Hereford."
