A HEREFORD pub is to cut its opening hours due to a lack of customers.
The Volunteer Inn in Harold Street, between Eign Road and the river Wye, said it was no longer financially viable to open on a Monday.

The pub said it was following "many other pubs in Hereford" by closing on a Monday as it was not "getting enough people in to make it financially viable".
The pub, which will still be open six days a week, tries to be a service to the local community.

"I'm sure this won't be popular among the few that might have popped in for a drink and for that we apologise but sometimes you have to make difficult decisions for the good of the business overall," the pub said.

Serving up traditional roasts on a Sunday, the pub has two main bars and a snug off a main corridor.
