A HEREFORD pub close to the city centre will reopen this week after closing when its previous landlords surrendered the licence.
Simon Gunning submitted a licence application to Herefordshire Council last month, looking to take on and reopen the Horse & Groom in Eign Street.
Mr Gunning said that the long established pub has been closed for a few months but is ready to be reopened.
The application is for the sale of alcohol to be drunk both on and off the premises, as well as live and recorded music, hot food and hot drinks.
If approved, the pub would be open from 10am to midnight seven days a week, with late night refreshments being supplied during the last hour on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Bank Holidays, as well as Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the closing time would be 1am.
But, while the consultation period ends on April 6, an update was posted to the pub's Facebook page yesterday (April 4) confirming that it will reopen on April 7.
The business said it will be reopening at 10am and thanked those who have helped them to reach this milestone.
"Most of all a big thank you to all of you for your patience and support," the announcement said.
"We look forward to seeing you all customers old and new."
