HEREFORD'S Bastion Mews will soon be redolent with the mouth-watering smell of freshly-baked bread as a new bakery opens in the city.
The Bastion Bakehouse will be opening its doors from 8am to 3.30pm on Tuesday, June 27, and will be holding a celebration of its first week on Saturday, July 1, from 10am to 3pm.
Offering traditional loaves, rolls, bagels and sweet baked treats made and baked on the premises, the Bakehouse will cater to daily bread needs as well as lunch and snacks.
Filled fresh bagels and baguettes will satisfy lunchtime hunger, while Chelsea and Belgian buns (amongst others) will provide much-needed boosts to morale, front-of-house manager Lara Latcham said.
Made from traditional recipes and the finest ingredients, the Bakehouse is promising quality bread products made with love and passion.
Ahead of their opening, the business is running a competition to win a week of free bagels.

Special deals, fun, and competitions will be running during the new shop's opening week, from June 27, to celebrate the opening.
Bastion Bakehouse is the latest venture from Hereford catering community A to Zest Events, which is also responsible for Dough cafe, also at Bastion Mews.
