SHOPPERS in Hereford have reacted with shock at the news that Wilko has collapsed in adminstration.
The Maylord Shopping Centre site is one of 400 shops at risk of closure after the high street giant said it had appointed adminstrators.
If no buyer is found, store closures and redundancies will follow, affecting about 12,000 people.

It is coming up to 10 years since Wilko opened in Hereford, which at the time created 87 jobs. However, if it has to shut its doors, it will be the latest shop in Maylords to close.
Samantha Roost is one person who regularly comes to Hereford to shop at Wilko from her Longhope home in the Forest of Dean.
"I've got a little chihuahua and Wilko is really good for dog wipes," she said.
"I always go to Wilko because they're really reasonable prices for pet stuff.
"I live near Ross and have been coming here for years."
Neil Robinson, from Credenhill, also regularly shops at Wilko.
"You would have thought that Wilko was secure, so it's hugely disappointing for the people who work there," he said.
"Hopefully they get a buyout."
