THE opening of a new Greggs in Hereford is edging closer.
While the bakery chain has not confirmed the exact date it will be opening its doors, a digital menu has been installed inside the shop.
A large banner advertising that Greggs is hiring is also in place by the Straight Mile in Rotherwas, on the edge of the city.
Greggs is taking over Phantom House, a two-storey office building previously occupied by radio products supplier Kinetic 6.
Until 2016, when it was known as Faculty House, it housed the showroom of food equipment maker Carpigiani, now relocated in Rotherwas.

Greggs previously sought a certificate of lawful development covering its planned new use for the building, avoiding the need to apply for full planning permission for the change.
A letter to Herefordshire Council from the company’s agent stressed that it would be essentially a shop rather than a takeaway hot food restaurant, so would remain in the same "use class" for planning purposes.
Signage went up on the building last month, with pictures of pastries and coffee teasing passers by.
Greggs already has two outlets in the city centre, in Broad Street and Commercial Street respectively.
A spokesperson for the company said: “Greggs is due to open a new shop in Hereford later this year. We will be able to share further details with you closer to the opening.”
