A POPULAR Greek takeaway is set to open a restaurant in Hereford soon.
Mr Gyro is a much-loved food business in and around Herefordshire, often appearing at local events with his truck selling gyros, pittas, salads and more.
Currently, the truck is based at Wickes Car Park in Widemarsh Street, Hereford. But Daniel Marin, the owner of Mr Gyro, will soon be welcoming customers to dine in at a new premises on West Street. People will also be able to take their food away to eat at home, or order it to their doors.
Mr Marin said: “I am sure that our customers will be very satisfied.”
The current menu includes gyros with meat or halloumi, as well as gyros trays where the toppings are laid out rather than wrapped up. The business also serves chips, salad, pita bread and tzatziki as sides, as well as soft drinks.
Having run the street food business out of his truck, he has had hopes to expand for a while.
An opening date has not yet been set, but Mr Marin is hoping to start taking bookings next month. Signage is up outside the shop and work has been done to decorate the interior, with Mr Marin completing most of the building work himself.
When the pandemic left Mr Marin out of bricklaying work, he decided to move into the food business.
