A Hereford shop is having to invest in metal gates to stop people relieving themselves in its doorway.
The Balloon Shop in the city’s Commercial Road has put in an application for permission to change its shopfront.
Included in the proposed changes are a “bi-folding metal gate to the entrance to stop it being used as a toilet”, the shop’s owner Trudy Davies writes in her application.

The off-white powder-coated metal gate would feature coloured balloon designs, accompanying plans show.
Commercial Road has several late-night bars and takeaways.
The plan would also refresh the shop’s main signage in purple and white with a surrounding LED strip, introduce an awning in the same colours, and remove the dividing mullion between the two main window panes.
The celebration items shop is open Tuesday to Saturday.
Comments on its application for advertisement consent, numbered 233001, can be made until November 23.
