A FAMILY who ran a Hereford fish and chip for 37 years has bid farewell to its customers.
Barry Lulu have served thousands of people over the years after opening it in November 1986, with it becoming a community hub for the area.
Their daughter, Allie Young and grandchildren, Claire Gullis, Sophie Young and Laura Harper have also helped out along with Roy Harper (Allie's partner and the shop's maintenance) man.
However, Mr Harper sadly died last June.
"We have seen College Green youngsters born, growing up, then having children of their own," said the family, in a statement sent to the Hereford Times.

"It has been a hive for local residents. Many staff have passed through our doors, going on to fulfil their careers and ambitions in life.
"As time passed, we decided, as a family to call it a day.
"We cannot thank everyone enough who came and used our shop, the laughs jokes the memories they all gave us. "
As well as posing for photographs as a goodbye, the family also got some of the College Green residents to put tabards on too.
"A big thanks to Don Cooke for organising the residents of College Green to come up and do a send-off for us all with fellow people of the estate who we have seen grown up and have families of their own," they added.
"It's been a pleasure, and we would like to wish the new owners good luck with the business and what they will succeed with in the future."
The shop is due to reopen in the new year.
