A CAFE and bar that opened in Hereford just over four months ago has temporarily closed.

Pre was set up in Maylord Orchard Shopping Centre by the Wobbly Brewing Company on September 28. The venue, which many people will know as the former BB's Coffee and Muffins, provided a café in the daytime before turning into a bar with live music in the evening.

However, a sign in the window says that Herefordshire Council has taken possession of the unit after the lease had expired, adding that it has been secured.

Hereford Times:

"Take notice that no one can lawfully enter the premises unless they have been given authorisation by the landlord," reads the note.

"Any attempt to enter the premises without the landlord's authority may be a criminal offence and result in a prosecution."

The opening of Pre came just a week after Wilko shut its doors. However, its closure means that Maylords again looks derelict with only Poundland and Active Fitness remaining within the shopping centre.

The Wobbly Brewing Company, who have confirmed they are holding sensitive negotiations with the council, do have two other businesses on the outskirts of the city.

Its taphouse is a very popular venue at Beech Business Park in Tillington Road, while it re-opened the Secret Garden in Coldwells Road last October.

At the time, Andy Hughes, managing director of Wobbly Brewing Company Ltd, said the firm was aiming to build on the success of the previous tenants of the Secret Garden.
