A LONG-STANDING Hereford garage has closed after 53 years.
Wyebridge Motors opened in 4a St Martin's Street by John Colwell and Joe Powell in 1971, before it made the short move along the street to number 36.
After the couple retired, Mr Colwell's son, Michael took over the business in 1998, and has run it ever since.

However, due to retiring himself, he has now closed the garage.
"Myself and my wife Lyn are really sad to be closing down as we have been there for so long," said Mr Colwell.
"We will miss all their customers who have become friends, over the years and would like to thank them all for their loyalty to the company over the years."
Jacqui Carwardine, who has worked at the garage for 19 years, added that that he has really enjoyed her time there.
"When the company was up the road at 4a, I worked for Michael's dad John," she said.
"We all went to school together, so have known the family for a long time.
"I remember John and Joe opening the business in 1971. It has been really sad to see the business close, it's been really hard, but we are all 70 so are going to retire and have a rest now.
"Our customers have been coming in and saying how sad they are that we are going. Some have been with us since we were up at 4a."
The garage has a 4.6 out of five rating on Google Reviews.
