A BUILDING in Hereford city centre that has been closed for nearly a year is being taken over.
Formerly Geek Retreat, the premises in Blueschool Street/Catherine Street has been shut since last June. Featuring a comic-style mural and posters, it was popular for many people after being set up during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The hub also served food, including burgers, fries, sweet snacks and ice-cream milkshakes.

Prior to Geek Retreat taking it on, it was formerly City Electrics, a shop that sold various lights and other equipment.
Now, the building will be home to Serenity Funeral Services (Hereford) Ltd, who has announced it will be taking it over in the next few weeks. The firm added that renovation work is currently underway.
The family business provides local services in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.
On its website, the company says its mission is 'o maintain our family values by providing a service to others that we would expect to be given ourselves'.
"We want to exceed our clients’ expectations; this means providing a service that is professional, empathetic, caring, discreet and honest," it said.
