A BUSINESS that was trialling a shop in Hereford's Maylord Orchards will be staying in the city centre for longer than it first thought.

Paul Beale and Craig Stanton are selling bespoke metal arts from their shop Crosskeys.

The shop began as a market stall, then moved into the former Hawkin's Bazaar shop in Maylord Orchards. After spending a few months as a "pop-up shop", the business has moved into a permanent location in Gomond Street.

It sells decorative metal furniture like fire pits and military-inspired "lest we forget" plaques, as well as wall art, signs and custom pieces.

Announcing the decision to move shops and stay "for the long haul", the owners said: "We have decided to extend our stay.

"We have moved everything just down the street to our shop next to Sam's Toys and are now settling in. So please continue to support us."

Mr Stanton said at the time of the pop-up shop opening: "We've taken on the Maylords shop for a couple of months initially to see if it will work.

"It's a part of Hereford where there's more shops that actually sell things than the middle of town. Maylords have worked hard to fill the unit and get things going.

"We do shows all over the country but we wanted to give it a go and avoid packing up every night and standing in the cold and wet.

"We do fire pits, which is what started it off, as well as plaques which we can personalise. We also do a lot of lest we forget stuff.

"We've both been fabricators all our life. We mainly did steel structures, but for three years we've been doing this stuff."
