A Hereford manufacturer has been rapped for allowing unsafe work on its roof.
The Pipe Corporation of Burcott Road in the city was served an immediate prohibition notice in July by the Health and Safety Executive.
It said staff at the welding and fabrication business had been allowed to work “without suitable and sufficient edge protection in place to prevent a person falling from height”.

This contravened the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 and Work at Height Regulations 2005, the HSE’s notice said.
Confirming the issue has now been resolved by the company, an HSE spokesperson explained: “The prohibition notice stopped the unsafe work at height during maintenance work on the factory roof.
“The issue was resolved by them proceeding to use the scissor lift they already had in place to continue with the work.”
