A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted robbery after attempting to hijack a taxi.
The incident happened in Woolhope at around 11.30pm on Friday, May 23. The man in question was reportedly abusive and threatening to the taxi driver, before telling him to leave the vehicle.
Police spokesman Neil Tipton said a fellow passenger gave the driver his mobile phone, which he used to call the police, who then arrived and made the arrest.
The man arrested was released on bail until June 26 while enquiries continue.
