I HAVE read recently that Aylestone Business and Enterprise College is having financial problems due to falling roles and a large campus to upkeep.
An answer would be for Aylestone BEC to be amalgamated with Bishop’s or St Mary’s schools. This will then allow a new Hereford university to be developed on Aylestone Hill.
We already have excellent post-16 education facilities in this area, with Hereford Sixth Form College, HCT and the Art College all being located in the area.
A University of Hereford would provide a much needed boost to the local economy and employment, not only in the short term during the building phase but for years to come by the spin off commercial development that will result.
