I WAS wondering if any of your readers would be able to help me trace some relatives.
I have been meaning to do this for a longish time now and have only just plucked up courage to do something about it.
The person was Mr Alex Jesse Baynham born about 1906 in Hereford, I think. His mother was Daisy Elizabeth Baynham, my grandmother.
He died in the 1980s – my dad attended his funeral. He is survived by his daughters, called Nancy and Lesley I think.
But I have a feeling Nancy went to America some time ago. They were born pre-Second World War or during it.
My relative Alex would have been my half-uncle as he was born out of wedlock long before Daisy met her husband Arthur Bunce. We didn’t know about Alex as in those days it was “the shame” of it all.
There are still 11 of his nieces and nephews left and we meet up for reunions every so often and we keep in touch a lot.
My cousin Stephen Bunce still lives in the Hereford area and is also keen to be contacted via his email sjb999@btinternet.com.
Alex was adopted by the Tranter family so had that name for a while.
He worked at the auction market and on the highways I believe.
This is my last hope as all other methods have failed, and we are all getting older.
ELIZABETH C BUNCE, Bare, Morecambe, Lancashire.
