I AGREE with comments by Wendy Watkins of Clehonger (Readers Times, March 26). You couldn’t make it up if you tried.
Here we are in the midst of one of the worst economic downturns in 100 years or more and Herefordshire Council decides to give £225,000 to one of the richest and least used institutions in the land, the local branch of the Church of England.
The cathedral is a beautiful building and worth some preserving, but at such astronomical cost to the public, the majority of whom are after all either agnostic or atheist?
