THERE is a credit collapse, so ‘cabinet’ wish to spend £17 million of our money on buying and converting new headquarters (without a council chamber) in one of the traffic black spots of the city!
“Lord, what fools these mortals be!”
They already own an ideal site, off the Roman Road, with exceptional access to the county and ample space for parking – the superfluously large site they have purchased for the market. There, a purposebuilt headquarters, including a council chamber, could be built for half that price.
Alas, it is too easy to be lavish with other people’s money.
