WITH the £17 million “consolidation” of council departments at Plough Lane, will Moor House be one of the many council properties no longer required?
If so, I suggest as the original owner Mrs Chave (who bequeathed the house to Hereford City Council) wished, this lovely house and its surroundings be used as a museum of Herefordshire life. The museum resource centre in Friar Street has a wealth of historical items rarely seen.
Hereford has a rich and fascinating history hidden away – we need to encourage visitors and locals alike to spend time (and hopefully money) in the county by promoting our beautiful villages, the peaceful countryside and the delicious food but, most importantly, the city’s unique and remarkable history.
