LADY Hawkins’ Grammar School students brought old memories from the class of ‘61 to a special reunion in Kington.
Two ex-pupils even came from Australia to the event, which attracted 20 former pupils and two retired teachers.
Gerry Aubrey, who emigrated in 1966, and Peter Eagling, who left Britain in 1987, both visited during separate trips home to visit family and friends.
Organiser Marianne Percival (formerly Mills) said: “I am also grateful to the generosity of the people who attended who helped raise funds for the Breast Cancer Haven.
“I work at the library in Hereford, where we hold an annual Pink Day for the Haven, and this year we raised £260, well above our previous highest total thanks to the £130 donated at the reunion.”
The next full gathering will now be in five years’ time, with various luncheons planned in between.
