Former Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick has appeared in court charged with multiple sex attacks on a woman and a girl under 14.
The 48-year-old is accused of two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour in relation to the woman between 2014 and 2019 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
He is also charged with five counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, between 1989 and 1990, when he was a teenager.
Carrick appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London via video-link on Thursday, wearing a grey tracksuit.
He spoke to confirm his name and age but was not asked to give pleas.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on November 14.
