Pegasus Juniors 3 Shawbury United 4
A LATE winner helped the Shropshire visitors to keep their West Midlands League Premier Division promotion hopes alive.
Pegasus made a lively start but fell behind against the run of play when Stuart Ellis raced on to an Adam Groom through-ball to shoot past Bryn Watkins.
The Juniors keeper did well to save from Robert Millington before Jamie Cuthbertson equalised.
Daniel Beddoes restored Shawbury’s lead four minutes later but it was allsquare going into the halftime break after Sam Hunt’s cross was headed in by Adam Newbury.
Pegasus went ahead for the first time via Kane Kahaki in the 56th minute after his initial shot had been blocked by Groom.
But a trip by Andy Mowen on Ellis allowed the Shawbury striker to level things up from the penalty spot.
Watkins, however, saved a second spot-kick from Ellis four minutes from time as the game seemed destined for a draw, only for Millington to curl home a free-kick in the dying minutes.
Wellington were beaten 2-0 at Shawbury United while Bromyard Town forced a 1-1 draw at Wednesfield.
In Division Two, thirdplaced Bartestree crashed 6-1 to Newport Town.
