LEDBURY Town joint-manager Chris Powell thinks his side may have given Westfields something to think about ahead of the county cup final.

Westfields coach Joe Rawle ran the rule over Ledbury for the opening 45 minutes of their 5-2 win at Hereford Lads Club.

Bromyard Town’s Clive Harris was also in the crowd.

Ledbury face holders and hot-favourites Westfields in the final of the HFA County Challenge Cup at Edgar Street next Wednesday.

“They were scouting us from Westfields and hopefully he might have gone back and said some positive things about our performance,” said Powell.

“I have played against Westfields all my life and these are the sort of games you want to be playing in.

“They are a wellestablished club and the highest amateur club around here.

“We watched Westfields in their semifinal against Pegasus – and they’re a good outfit.”

Powell added: “We will have to be on our game to compete against them.”
