GOALKEEPER Steve Bell might be given a recall for Lads Club’s home match with Newport Town.

“It wasn’t our normal goalkeeper,” admitted manager Danny Moon, after last Saturday’s 5-2 loss against Ledbury Town.

“Our normal goalkeeper had gone on holiday the week before and I decided to stick with the lad who took his place.”

Danny Hill was beaten twice from long-range and also fumbled a cross from which Dan Herbert netted.

“Steve Bell was here – but he wasn’t in the squad,” said Moon.

“He took it on the chin but we’ll probably see him in the next match.”

Moon said he was in the changing rooms when the already-booked Tom Harding was shown a second yellow card for comments after the final whistle.

He added: “We’ve got Tom for another couple of weeks before he goes away – but that could be it for the season.”

But Moon has been pleased with Ashley Day’s return to action.

“Ashley is a top quality player and we need him to turn up every week,” he said.

“Hopefully, we can keep him here until the end of the season.

“He’s played three matches in a row now after a long-term injury at Pegasus.

“Hopefully, we can get 90 minutes out of him in our next match.”
