Rocester 1 Westfields 2
WESTFIELDS moved up to fifth after a superb 2-1 away Midland Alliance league win last night at Rocester.
Westfields were hit in the fourth minute when Chris Stirling fired home a curling shot to give the Romans an early lead.
But Westfields came back strongly before the interval when Phil Glover headed home after a shot from Will Loughman had come back off the crossbar.
After the break, Westfields got into their stride and scored the winner when Alex O’Leary raced down the flank and put over a pin-point cross which Aidan Thomas flicked on to to Jamie Cuss who scored from close range.
Matt Gwynne made a brave save at the feet of Darren Bullock as the Rocester side piled on late pressure.
Westfields win extended their unbeaten run to 17 league and cup games.
